Most of the angels that I know are cool with demons. I think that's part of what makes Chicago so amazing. You go to other places, and they'd never imagine that a demon and angel could be friends but they can! I mean, some of the differences are bad. People get stuck with callings that they don't want. People get stuck with callings that lead them to do things they don't want to do, but we're all in the same boat. It ends the same for all of us, angel or demon.


I don't really understand it either. I just know that people do it. A lot of the Barnams are archangels, and archangels calling is to kill demons. It's hard to ignore your calling and not follow it. It's really hard to describe what it's like to have one, but you reach points where there's not much choice over what you can do. Some people embrace their callings whole, some deny it but in the end, you don't get much of a choice.

Don't get me wrong. I'm very proud to be an angel, and I'm proud and grateful for my calling. I'm glad I was made to do what I am, but it's not that way for everyone.

People will die though and that's okay. Even if it's not in this war, death is a part of life. People are meant to die when they're meant to, and we can't stop that. You can fight and protect people and that's good, but don't beat yourself up when people do die, okay?
